Dr. Ginsberg is widely considered an expert in the care of sexual and gender minority patients, particularly transgender individuals. He published the first major study on the dermatologic attitudes and practices of transgender persons, authored the dermatology section of the first LGBTQ medical text for healthcare providers, and was the first to speak about this topic at major dermatology conferences from the United States to Milan. He continues to contribute regularly to medical journals, textbooks and commercial publications, acts as an editorial board member of the JAAD as part of the Cultural Sensitivities Workgroup, and speaks both nationally and internationally on LGBTQ-focused topics. He is a regular consultant to other providers, major corporations, and the FDA on issues pertaining to gender minority dermatologic care.
